|Servant Leader - Katie|
Why on earth do you choose to work with youth?
I love the simplicity, yet difficulty of that age. I can relate in so many ways to where they are. It’s at those ages that you strive the hardest to find your place in this world and are desperate in your search to know your purpose.
What are some of the main things you hope these youth learn?
That God will always be there to pick you up and guide you through the difficulties of life. Jesus is far greater than anything that ever comes your way. Know that He loves you so much that He would do anything for you…and He did. Hold steadfast in your faith in Him and you will see His glory.

What advice would you give youth about relationships?
As easy as it is to want to be a part of the vast accumulation of young people who are always dating someone, you should redirect your focus towards not just ‘dating’…but the real purpose of it, finding your future spouse. Make a list of all of the godly characteristics that should be found in that person and meditate highly on that in your search. Don’t settle for less than the best that God has for you. Also, find your identity in God first, BEFORE you go on your search.
What advice would you give youth about temptation?
There is absolutely no way that you can handle temptation on your own, you must give it to God and then permanently run away from it. Don’t let it get you down and think since it’s already there, you have to succumb to it. God allows it because He knows you can overcome it…so trust in Him. Get a trustworthy accountability partner to help you have discipline and accountability.
What advice would you give youth about spending time with God?
Make it a MUST! No matter how much you have going on, always make it top priority. Before going to school, read His Word and pray, even if just for 5 minutes. I promise you, God will bless you and your relationship with Him will grow and be great!

Going to school to get my degree in Biblical Studies and Art. I know I’m definitely called to some kind of ministry I’m just not quite sure where exactly God wants me yet. It could be anything from youth, evangelism things like Acquire the Fire and dramas, or missions. I’m super stoked to find out though!

Which would you choose between ... being able to fly, living to 150,
being the President, always knowing the future or being a movie star?
Flying. I see no need to live that long. Being president?...I don’t want to look like I lived 150 years, being a movie star is overrated, and I already know the future…Jesus is coming.
What did you love about being a teenager?
Not having to be a grown-up.
What did you hate about being a teenager?
All the drama and nonsense, not knowing God like I do earlier and not having any spiritual influences to pour into me and guide me in growing with God.
What is it that you like most about God?
He always has a crazy way of making things obvious and when things seem to go wrong and I get down, He immediately throws something my way to lift me up. He’s the only one who has never left me or let me down.
How can we be praying for you?
Just that I hold steadfast in my path where school is concerned and that I receive a revelation of the work He set aside for me long before He made me.
