F.R.A.T. Houses meet once a month on Sunday evening in local homes. (Sept. to May)
Why are thousands of teenagers involved in gangs? Why do thousands of college students belong to fraternities? I believe the main reason is because of the need every one of us has… the need to belong. A place where we feel a part of. Like an old song used to go, "…You want to go where everybody knows your name, you want to go where everybody is glad you came."
That is what our F.R.A.T. Houses are all about. F.R.A.T. stands for the four main purposes our groups meet.
Youth Groups are awesome and meet a lot of needs, but we need these small groups to keep anyone from feeling like "just a number" or from getting lost in the crowd. We pray that each F.R.A.T. House will be a safe place for each teenager to feel that they belong and are a part of a family. Providing an atmosphere for emotional and spiritual needs to be met as God forms healthy, intimate relationships that go deeper than our normal "surface friendships".
Teenagers should feel ownership of their F.R.A.T. House and use this time to step out in their spiritual gifting and grow closer to God, their friends, and their youth workers. We believe that God wants to speak through these teenagers, use them in ministry (in the church and outside of it), and be true friends that keep each other accountable. |
